LITTLE HOUSE IN THE WOODS
LITTLE HOUSE IN THE WOODS
Hey! You found me. ME! One among millions! How did you find your way up here to this barely paved road between the mountains and the creek? Never mind, you're here, and I sure am pleased to see you. Now let's go sit on the porch and visit awhile. It's real peaceful and quiet up here, of course, whether it stays that way all depends on who else might drop by.
I surely miss Max; hard to believe he's no longer with us. Oh, I think he's here in spirit, but if you were looking for someone with whom to debate the political state of our country and those abroad, you've missed the best.
If you're really lucky, you'll hear clear sweet mountain singing in an angelic voice wafting up toward Mt. Pisgah on the chords of a guitar; that would be my talented songwriter friend, Sherrie. She's married to Charlie, who makes some of the most exquisite pottery I've ever seen.
You might catch a glimpse of Bumpers, my little, once feral Caribbean kitty. She's very shy, but if she comes to you and lets you pet her, you have been paid a mighty high compliment. If she gives you chin bumps, then I'll know without a doubt that you are "Good People. The odds are in your favor that you'll get to meet Beck , the jumpinest dog in Western North Carolina, and his sidekick, Blue, who is possibly the sniffinest as their person brings them often. Colleen is a decoupage artist, and one of the best porch sitters I know. Another regular, Traci, is a jewelry designer...did I say all my friends are highly creative? I may not have a lot of "Money and Stuff", but I am wealthy when it comes to friends!
Oh, and if the weather is rainy mixed with a bit of whimsy, you just might see some of the characters in my stories slipping in and out of the mists that surround me where I live in my little house in the woods.
